Modelux Victorian Suspension Bridge Review

After discovering I didn't much like the cost of some 00 gauge bridge models I decided to try and hunt down an alternative.  Flat-pack kits are variant in quality, often cheap card buildings, but obviously not strong enough to work as a bridge.

This is where the Modelux kit is slightly different, it works as a suspension bridge despite being thin card-ply.

Upon receiving the item I was initially overwhelmed buy the amount of contents, and how small.  I knew it was going to be fiddly, but I realised I could use tweezers and a precision screwdriver as a pushing tool.  You'll need similar tools, especially for the suspension arms.

Building the bridge was far more therapeutic than the above suggests.  There was something about slowing down and being careful, methodical and focusing gently.
Impatience is your enemy with any modeling project.  Gentle progress is far better than racey efforts.  As I discovered with gluing some components, it is very easy to use too much glue and slightly ruin the finish.  This is forgiving at a distance, but the closer you get, the more the glue comes into sight.
