JMRI - One of the best worst DCC systems out there.
It's not often that you find an affordable DCC system to modify and automate trains. I have been working on a shuttle service. I don't have space anywhere for an oval room-filling setup. But I can shuttle a service up and down the straight track going between two shelves and the right hand side of a desk. You think it'd be simple. You'd think it would be automated in the days of AI and supposedly cross platform. Well, some of the software packages do at least attempt to be cross-platform. But it's not cross-user. There are those that can spend there time in dark rooms, working out complex signally systems and the whatnot. Most of us have time to do a bit of the electronics, and that's enough. It should just work. You should just need to select a few things, for instance which GPIO ports on a Raspbery pi are being used for what. Sensors mainly. Sensors. Was JMRI going to be the miracle with my fully worki...
